a lua e o sol alteram a lua.
But on the other hand if we were all about the sudden journey of growth and development then we can
neglect basic needs which is our basic emotional needs and also the basic physical bodies needs.
So somehow the two need to get a lock in as with all of these hard aspects the challenge is bringing
both sides somehow expressing both sides.
And it's not easy when they're in conflict in aspect where you have the sun in a trine or a sextile
to the moon than on a deep level there's a harmony between these different natures of the person.
And deep down it makes it it makes it very easy.
What they need and what they one might not necessarily be the same thing.
But there's a hard money that means they can be achieved without too much struggle which isn't the case
in.
When you have a sudden square the moon or sun opposite the moon the sudden needs to be developed and
we need to differentiate it from the moon but not dissociate from me not just abandon our basic human
needs.
So there's a sense of expanding our sense of self while at the same time including war.
War is intrinsically in our nature rather than just a bonding it abandoning it cutting ourselves off
from it.
Because the moon is vital for our physical health our emotional well-being and also our relationships.
And so we need to acknowledge and express both in our lives in some way to give an example with the
signs liver and cancer.
So I say there's the sun in Libra and the moon comes in square aspect to each other then the sun nature
in Libra shows a need to learn to be more objective and to stand back from a situation not to get so
emotionally attached and so emotionally entangled in a situation.
But the moon isn't cancer and so though the moon still has needs to be met.
And so one possibility is the moon needs gets abandoned and the person is very cool but totally detaches
from the emotional side which is still a very important part of their nature with the moon in a water
sign.
So it's somehow finding a balance finding a way to
acknowledge one's emotional side without just being purely caught up in the drama or sunlight of life.
And one thing that's just occurred to me that's worth pointing out since we're talking about these hard
aspects is to recognize with the square aspect that it's always between two elements that are.
One could say incompatible.
If you remember back to the introductory set of lectures when I was talking about the elements I explained
how fire and air have a certain affinity together and earth and water have an affinity together.
And so you can notice in the case of the square aspects if you look at a copy of this zodiacal just
think about you'll never find a fire sign in square aspect to it as a sign.
And likewise within water the square all was has this compatibility of elements.
So fire is a was even a square aspect to why the earth or water likewise at all was in a square aspect
to and water.
Likewise all of the signs are in square to why the incompatible elements firetrap Netherlands neverin
square to water and water Likewise a was in squarer aspect to fire and if that doesn't make sense or
if that isn't clear to you it's worth just pulling out a copy of a chart or the zodiac and seeing for
yourself how that works.
Essentially it's because as you go through the Zodiac there's an alternation as you go from sign to
sign between the outgoing and extroverted elements of fire and our introverted elements of water.
So you start the first sign of Aries which is fire and then it's you've got Earth of Taurus air of Gemini
and cancer the water sign and so cancer being three signs are 90 degrees from Aries isn't square to
it.
So then you've got fire and water as you go to the next site.
Leo Leo always three signs or in a square to Taurus so that the square is to fire and so on throughout
the zodiac.
Anyway that's just a little aside that occurred to me which is relative to all aspects in a charter
and just gives an indication of how wide the square aspects are difficult because there is an income
possibility that between the natures of the signings that are in square to each other to finish up talking
about the Sun Moon aspects you can often find when a person has Sun square Moon or so on opposite moon
is that because these are the symbols for mother and father that there was either actual conflicts between
the two parents that the child picked up upon and internalized or for some reason the child got mixed
messages and interpreted that parents as coming from different perspectives and giving contradictory
messages which again may or may not have been what the parents were actually doing but certainly is
the perception or what the child themselves picked up on which which could purely be done to their own
internal wiring or could be an intrinsic part of the parent's nature.
Either way the result is the same that there is a conflict between these two archetypes in their lives.
And when you have the special case of the sun and moon being in the same sign then because the moon
is about what comes naturally in the sun is what we need to develop.
It suggests some facets of outside it come easily and naturally and that the stuff that the moon embodies
and then there's other elements whole parts to that siren that need to be developed.
And so that's was the sudden side of it is bringing to the sign and unto the sun in mercury if you find
Sun square AB mercury or Sun opposite Mercury.
Same thing really as the Moon Mercury had aspects that I mentioned previously it's issues around communication.
But this time it's with the father.
So I use the same cartoon here just to illustrate the theme of miscommunication those with a son hard
aspect to Mercury there's possibly some way in some form difficulty in communication with the father.
And so the path of becoming one's own being the journey of individuation for this person will likely
involve in some way learning to communicate that that needs to say what they want.
Signs involve can give some more details about the specifics of the situation.
For instance if the person has mercury in Aries then there might be a need.
Part of their journey of becoming more themselves is about the need to learn to slow the mind to think
things through rather than just saying the first thing that comes into their head.
Mercury in Aries is direct but can be insensitive.
So maybe they experienced a father like son and they take on this as an aspect of their own identity
a person learns what it is to be an individual through their interactions with their father a father
figure regardless of whether that a boy or a girl.
And so sunny and hot aspects of mercury in some way the thought processes which is mercury is at odds
with the sense of self but at the same time the two planets are connected.
So hard aspects can one the challenges up in that matter and overcome then be converted into a talent
or a great skill that can be used in expressing one's son nature more strongly so.
So you could find the person with the sun squared Mercury may end up working in some field has to do
with communication or has to do with the critical thinking process the formulation of ideas Weinhold.
But it would of been something that doesn't come naturally to them and it's through the meeting and
overcoming those challenges of the Sun square mercury that they lead and learn to communicate or think
in a way that has a beneficial impact on their life.
The sun in hot aspect of Venus I don't consider this to be a major issue actually.
As I mentioned before Venus is generally considered to be a positive influence in the charts but it
is a hard.
To maybe some kind of issue to to overcome that but I don't consider it to be a majorly difficult thing
in a person's life.
What it could show Venus is the planet of love and beauty.
And so could be expectations that the father embodies everything charming and wonderful in life and
he's there to offer for less love and affection as this image hopefully illustrates that could be a
sense of idealizing the father figure something that son Neptune could also show.
In this case sudden Venus ascent of idealising the father.
That may be the father.
Let the child die in some way that he wasn't able to live up to this idealistic Venus nature of everything
beautiful and wonderful and good.
That's all I really want to say about that aspect at this time.
So let's move on to sudden Maz start again with Maaz being considered one of the more difficult planets
to be an aspect with we include the conjunction.
So we've got sun conjunct Mars and since grandma's and Sun opposite Mars.
So again they suggest some think about the father figure that we meet the planet Mars somehow through
our father.
And so that could be that we experience him as being angry or aggressive or violence or maybe even unsafe
for some reason.
Mozzies assertion.
And so a positive connection or a higher connection of sudden loss could be a healthy image that the
father gives of what it is to be strong and masculine and to go after what you want.
So now a high energy connection.
You could consider them both five planets.
So there's a lot of action oriented in this where you have sun and Mars and a lot of energy and drive
and desire to fulfill one's potential.
When we're looking at the hard aspects though and focusing specifically on the challenging nature of
these two planets then for a boy.
This is the role model he has of what it means to be a man.
And so he might the being a man is about being confrontational with people maybe starting fights being
aggressive and for a woman that's what she Lund's the men are all about.
Sorry for a daughter she learns from my father what men are all about.
And therefore that's why she might end up with a woman with a son.
Square Mazo son opposite Miles.
For example in her natal chart might end up being attracted to the bad boy the alpha male but who isn't
really good for her because he's abusive or aggressive potentially violent or just angry and until she's
dealt with those issues within herself she might find that these guys just keep showing up in her life.
And there are of course different ways that we absolve the lessons our parents teach us through their
behaviors.
And so it's equally possible that somebody with one of these sodomizes aspects isn't noticeably aggressive.
It could be that they witness this in their father and decided I don't like that.
I'm not going to be like that.
And so I actually could end up being a person who's quite mild to quite me.
Who isn't at all confrontational.
And that would suggest actually that probably trying too hard to control their anger and being too careful
not to appear demanding when not to appear pushy.
They witnessed an aggressive father and decided that they weren't going to be like that.
The danger with that is so if you meet somebody who seems quite meek and a bit withdrawn with the hearts
and minds aspect then chances are they've actually cut themselves off from that Maaz nature which means
they don't have to experience their anger so much.
But it also means that they lose all of the more positive MOS expressions.
So maybe then they really are unable to go after what they want in life really are able to assert that
will and in such a case there's probably a fair chance by disowning that because they get to meet other
people in their lives or they might end up being attacked for seeming seemingly no reason a seemingly
random attack.
But one way of viewing that would be that it's their own Maza energy having to be expressed in some
way in that life because remember everything that's in a person's all he has to come out in some way.
So if you're cut off from it you will experience it in the outside world in some manner or form.
And then we have sudden Jupiter
as with sudden Venus I don't consider this to necessarily be too difficult a placement.
Certainly not in comparison to the what are the important ones that we can come onto next.
Jupiter is for the most part very positive influence but it's because it's nature is everything that's
big and expansive that can be a sense of overdoing it.
So it could be someone with a very big ego or somebody who's
prone to overestimating their own abilities.
They stretch themselves to fall and are overconfident or even that there's a sense of exaggeration in
whatever they do.
And that's the aspect of sudden Jupiter that I chose to represent with the cartoon on screen so sudden
Jupiter is likely to be larger than life figure in some way.
And if it's in a hard aspect maybe not was in a way that's healthy for their own sense of self that
they just think too much of themselves or that they could be a little bit unrealistic in their view
of life may be prone to exaggeration.
And I would like to point out actually that that is a misspelling in the exaggerations on the screen.
I am aware of.

And so he would have likely then tried to work harder and harder to get it maybe even trying to fulfill
what it is they thought that father wanted them rather than what they wanted to be doing for themselves.
Positive feedback or the lack of a healthy father figure a role model for being individual self would
then hinder in some way that development of the identity.
And I should say here as well the I have done chores for people with very prominent very strong difficult
on certain aspects who actually got on really well with their father.
So.
So it's not it didn't necessarily come from him.
It could also be because Saturn represents a sense of authority.
So it could be some other or falsity fake as in a person's life for example.
Difficult times with teachers at school that were very supportive and interacted with the child in a
very strict or authoritarian way rather those as in supporting and providing a positive role model for
what it means to be a person in one's own rights either way whatever the actual cause.
The results tend to be very similar.
For people with a Sun Saturn hodd aspect actually let me just put up the cartoon that I chose for sunspots
on
the essence of this as you can see is feeling the weight of responsibility the weight of parental expectations
which is a Sun Saturn theme of constantly striving to live up to these expectations but never really
feeling good enough never really feeling like what you've done meets with the approval of the parents
or the authority figure.
And so regardless of the actual cause as I was saying.
The result tends to be very similar and not as some kind of a limitation or restriction in the sense
of identity in the sense of being one's own person and so it's a difficult challenge to meet and overcome
in embodying and fulfill fulfilling the soul potential in being truly one's self which is of course
a lifelong process.
So these early life experiences bring up a lot of self doubt and usually some kind of inferiority complex
some kind of sense of inadequacy and an often also a failure of authority figures fear feel that controlling
elements in some way they would have perceived in their early environments and then internalized because
remember they suspect he's within the Ponson
the initial impetus may have come from some think they're in that environment.
But then it becomes a part of who they are.
Their perception or experience or with the role model for being a separate self embodying one son when
Satan is involved is really a theme of running into a brick wall or a sense of coldness and distance.
Maybe a new authoritarian church mentor or even controlling in some way or punishing father figure out
which may or may not be the father of themselves whatever way you look at it it's a very challenging
aspect to all aspects to sports on a very difficult and especially with the son being our life journey
and the quest to become fully ourselves.
It indicates somebody who's going to have to face a lot of challenges especially in the early life a
person with a hard son Saturn aspect will most likely have a very difficult childhood sense expression
of themselves striving to be their own separate person was somehow thwarted or blocked in many different
situations as they grew up.
People might feel unlucky with this aspect.
This because that can be this persistent sense of not getting what they want.
A feeling like that getting somewhere and then suddenly an event happens in life that stops them achieving
that goal.
A lot of setbacks or frustrations and that can lead them to become very serious and maybe quite pessimistic
have a negative outlook attitude to life because of so many challenging experiences in their early life.
The effect of Satana on a personal planet on any personal planet is to censor the expression about planet
in some way.
And so with the sun there is some kind of censoring or inhibition of truly being oneself and going after
what one once maybe a feeling that they don't deserve to be successful don't deserve to be happy with
just a sense of guilt or for really expressing who they are.
So there's no doubt it's a very difficult aspect but it's not all doom and gloom.
It's not all lost.
Certain aspects particularly get easier with age and the more we face and confront those issues the
easier that they become and then the more able we all to embody the highest sense of satin.
But certainly early on there's a sense of restriction which fear fear is a key word associated with
Sarton and such as fear of expressing oneself creatively a discomfort on a deep level with one's own
being which has to be faced and overcome in some way.
And the important thing for a person to recognize is really that the sense of restriction and limitation
is actually coming from within.
It may feel like all of these unlucky unfortunate life situations happening especially for a person
with such an opposite sort.
And remember the opposition often tends to manifest as external events and external people in our lives
that seem to embody the Saturnian energy.
But actually some think coming from within which that event or situational person is an expression of
the internal socman.
So surprisingly sudden certain types could often be very serious.
They don't tend to be particularly frivolous and necessarily easy going people.
They would tend to come across as being skeptical maybe pessimistic.
Certainly cautious and probably resolved in some way.
I'm one of the key lessons for them to learn really is to not be so hard on themselves.
So uncertain people often they internalize what they felt to be these external pressures and expectations.
And then by the time they're an adult an adolescent or an adult that doing it to themselves.
So it be common to be more attuned to the little failures or setbacks in life and to really take them
to heart and to beat themselves up over it.
What's important to realize is that nobody else is having such high expectations are high standards
for them then than they have for themselves.
And even if they do it's really none of that business.
So it's really important to lighten up a bit too to not take life quite so seriously to have more fun
and to stop worrying about was feeling accomplished or was doing things exactly right.
The easier they go on themselves the less help because they will then find that they're in daily life
they're not going to have so many
confrontations or disappointments which I would see when they happen externally in life as simply being
a representation of their own internal view of themselves and their own expectations of what life will
bring them when a sudden certain person really recognized that they deserve the good things that they
go easier on themselves then things certainly start to get much easier.
And as with all Satana aspects it's often around the Saturn returns around twenty nine years of age
where we truly start to master if you like the planets and really start to internalize it and to no
longer be afflicted by it.
But really start to have it working for our own good for the first twenty nine years or so it may seem
like Saturn is coming from the outside and lots of difficult disappointing experiences.
But then what we learned through the Saturn Times is basically to take responsibility for ourselves
and our own lives.
And for everything that happens even if it seems to be someone doing something to us.
And so such a person with a prominent Saturn in that chart might find around that age around the age
of twenty nine very difficult or challenging life experience but one which one that which forces them
ultimately to change their attitude to themselves and to life and and through that process of essentially
growing up and becoming an adult which is what we do really at our Saturn returns.
You know society says that we're an adult 18 or 21 but we only really truly start experiencing and living
life from an adult perspective once we've been through our Saturn returns.
And so the key really to Sun Saturn person to overcome these feelings of not being good and the feelings
of inferiority is basically hard work.
The energy of Saturn is all about slow and steady.
Nothing happens fast where Saturn is concerned but success always comes through hard work.
Saturn is seen as by some people as a follower of karma.
It always challenges us but really for our own good.
And Saturn is also structure and foundation.
So.
So it symbolizes the need to have a lot of patience and persistence and through hard work really start
to make one's life exactly what you want it to be such a person has the ability to really embody the
highest side of everything that Sarton stands for early in life it's likely to be the lower side that
comes out.
But then through the constant challenges constantly banging one's head against the wall slowly we love
and hopefully hopefully we learn slowly to to internalize that Satana energy and that means to become
responsible become grownup and become one's own or authority figure to no longer fight against all authority
figures in life to try and live up to somebody else's expectations.
It's very important to little by little come to come into contact with one's own sense of what's right
in terms of the way to live one's life in some spots and people actually tend to be very successful
in life.
Precisely because of the challenges that they face when younger which really forced them to struggle
and learn to grow.
As time slowly passed so little by little a sudden stops and person dispels those self-doubts and
they do have a strong desire to make some think of their lives to be successful.
And while it doesn't happen early in life probably by the time they reach middle age or you know into
their 40s then they may well experience a great deal of success in life.
There is a desire to be seen as competition and comfort and strong.
And this in the drive often leads to a rise to some kind of position of authority to be seen as that
successful person.
But it's important to always bear in mind why striving after whatever it is because we're sensitive
and there's always going to be this sense of striving to achieve in some failed in some areas of life.
And the important thing is to see the motivation to make sure that he's not coming from a sense of a
lack or a sense of wanting to prove oneself to somebody else which often stems back to the early environment
and the father figure in order to really be embodying Sun Saturn in a conscious way.
It has to be that a person is following their own path and their own goals and making sure that they're
not just doing something to prove a point or doing something because it's what they feel was expected
of them.
The lower side of sunspots and could be seen as trying to control one's environment which would again
be stemming from this feeling of inferiority somewhere deep in the unconscious probably.
And this may well then be felt in the physical body so sudden symbolizes that all kinds of structures
and boundaries in life and that goes for the physical body too.
So if somebody is expressing too much the lower side of Saturn that would be probably quite rigid physically.
Such a person might end up with arthritis or problems with skin or even teeth.
There's a need for flexibility there.
So certainly yoga is a really excellent practice for a sudden sort person who can be physically and
in their outlook on life too rigid sometimes.
A sense of flexibility and the body can then bring flexibility to that I can and way of expressing oneself
in life.
Moving on to the sun Uranus hot aspects.
Remember why the planet Uranus is concern there's often a sense of disruption or something unconventional
unusual different maybe even radical or rebellious by the nature of the planets that it contacts.
So again when young.
These were the lessons that the child would have picked up in some way from the son who was that role
model for being a separate self being an expression of one's own individuality.
And again that's often the father figure.
And so there would likely have been something quite unusual about the father he might not think of a
restless energy or be very unpredictable and changeable he might have been quite erratic it might be
that he worked away from home a lot and he was only there for weekends.
Your insanity is very intense but it's it's it's off or on.
There's no real middle ground on it.
It tends to change quite quickly.
And so there is certainly something unusual about the child's upbringing that instilled this this Uranus
energy deep into that sense of identity.
They love somehow.
This is what it means to be a separate self.
And so unlike sunspots and people who tend to be quite traditional and mainstream usually Uranus has
to do things their own way has to do things differently.
So new and US people are going to question tradition.
They can be very interested in everything that's unique and different and that they're not really going
to be very happy in some kind of routine.
Remember the energy use is quite intense but it's there when it's not there so it can be it's somebody
who's maybe at one time got a lot of energy and is very active.
And then suddenly it goes away and then nothing motivates them.
So so and as people work best when they can work to their own rhythm rather than having to follow some
set pattern.
So you know when I was an athlete a regular nine to five job would set hours would be probably very
challenging for a person with sun you know hard on aspect.
Much better to let them come and go as they please and to set their own hours because over the long
time they would still get all the work done but trying to fit themselves into the box of follow and
following along with what everyone else is do and just doesn't work for them.
So these people especially when young could be considered to be rebels.
Or even as this photograph shows something of an outsider so new and as people move to the beats of
their own drum and often have a real sense of why I hate with their own uniqueness.
They would be very happy and proud of being their own unique expression and doing things their own way.
But the consequence of that is is other times feeling very left out feeling very different and often
just not in tune with Walt and everybody else he's doing if you're a parent with a child with a sudden
you're in a hard aspect then it's very important to encourage their own unique expression of life and
not try to force them to conform because a lot will do is turn them into the rabble and a freak out
if they if somebody tries to put them in a box.
If somebody makes them try to follow rules the they don't agree with.
No that just rebellious for the hell of being rebellious but that just ingrained to have their own set
way of doing things and simply aren't able to cooperate just because somebody tells them to the planet
Uranus is also related to the world of the intellect in mythology.
Ron this was got on the expansiveness of the heavens are associated with the mind the intellect and
theories concepts and abstract philosophies.
So these are all areas where you and these people can be quite strong and that can be real aptitude
for technology for seeing things an intuitive inspirational and different ways making connections that
other people don't make.
Of course it always depends on the rest of the chart.
But it would be especially the case if the sun was in one of the signs for instance it can also mean
a certain level of disconnection from that parties and from the world of feelings and emotions.
And so in a situation where there are strong emotions then they may become a little bit detached they
may respond in a way that's aloof and dispassionate which is actually great for being a person in a
crisis situation.
The guy that keeps the cool head can prove challenging in personal relationships whether the realm of
feelings and emotions might not be so comfortable to them.
So the key to really bringing out the higher side of the sun in contact is firstly doing things one's
own way not just being a rebel for the sake of being a rebel but to follow one's own natural instincts
for what is right rather than trying to fit in and which will then only lead to rebelling against it.
And so you are in us by a sense of revolution forming.
It's related to the concept of freedom and space and so senior and people can can be real free spirits
without energies best channeled into some area of life where they can bring about constructive change
because that's what you and to do it wants to bring about change.
The fact of life has more freedom in some way.
So it could be working with groups that under-privileged
working in society for the benefit of some some group as a whole or even humanity as a whole.
And and quite possibly in in some kind of cutting edge area working with high technology all with computers
all things that can bring out the higher side of Uranus and ultimately for Sun Uranus person it's about
accepting and embodying one's one's own deference and to thrive in that sense of doing thing you're
doing things your own way bringing you all quirky different nature but in a way that is healthy rather
than just rebelling against the main mainstream for the sake of it.
So Neptune so where a person meets the archetype of the planet Neptune through that relationship with
their father or the father figure why young.
So what you often find with a sudden Neptune hard aspect is a person who's father when they were growing
up was either masing physically or emotionally or a weak father figure someone who was sick or even
somebody who was an alcoholic or a drug addict.
The lower side of the planet Neptune is a sense of vague ness of confusion or loss in some way either
physically or emotionally.
The father figure isn't a strong presence in a person's life.
They probably don't have a strong sense of their own being their own individuality.
And so this is what the child picks up and what you often find with people growing up with a son Neptune
hard aspect is that for a long time they don't really have a clear sense of who they are.
That strong sense of identity the son just wasn't formed when they were younger.
In a way that it was with that he.
And so they'll likely have to go through a journey of discovering who they are soul searching and trying
to find their identity trying to figure out who who am I am what is my place in the world because that's
what the Sun is all about.
Yet Neptune clouds the issue somehow there's a fog or a mist around and there's a lack of clarity by
whatever planeta hits them.
Neptunia so so connected with the theme of dissolved boundaries and so it very much opposes the essence
of the sun actually because the sun to be an individual separate self one has to have Birendra as one
has to know this is where I end and the world begins and not something that doesn't come naturally to
us on Neptune person.
What it means is that often at least when younger they are very prone to deception and disillusion for
some reason they're not quite in touch with the reality of life that might be more interested in that
daydreams or that fantasy life.
You know Neptune is all about a sense of the intangible realm which in its higher form can be spirituality
and a connection to the divine but in its lower form which is most often seen with the hard aspects
that it tends to just be somebody who can't cope with the harsh realities of daily life in some way
and so adopt different strategies for escapism that are likely to be real idealists and dreamers but
not necessarily in touch with the reality of a situation.
And so can indicate a person who is quite deluded actually and you could say that this delusion comes
from there is a recognition that all of this intangible realm beyond the physical world there is a great
sensitivity there.
Two more subtle energies.
The other people on so aware of and so that sense of idealism or being a dreamer can can come from a
recognition of that realm if you like with a desire to be something special and and essentially that
the reality of daily life and the daily grind is very disappointing and very far removed from this vague
sense of the other that they carry with them in some respect.
So the lack of this clearly defined sense of self was clearly defined the ego can often get get them
into trouble in younger years without a strong sense of who they are.
Such people can end up falling in with the wrong crowd being easily taken advantage of being easily
deceived.
And easily led astray into self-destructive habits so they themselves some Neptune people themselves
often have issues with alcohol and drugs in their own lives.
It gives them a means to escape the mundane ordinary depressing world.
But also they're especially sensitive to such substances and so they're going to be affected by alcohol
and drugs much more than most other people as ever when Neptune is concerned.
One of the key themes is learning boundaries and learning a sense of integrity.
There is the journey to discover well who am I really.
Because the sun is so key so central to our lives that if we're not fully embodying it which is very
common with a hard aspect to Neptune then we can just drift through life feeling lost feeling confused
not really knowing what's going on.
And that starts with the setting boundaries of working hard to gain clarity into one's own true nature
and what's really good for oneself and also some Neptune people really need to work on bringing the
higher side of Neptune out because it has to be expressed in their lives.
You can't just move away from its negative expressions you need to have Neptune come through in your
life in some way.
And so that is really what it can come in a number of ways but it's it's tuning into that connection
with this intangible but very real.
Brown hmm.
So it could be using one strong imagination to do something creative and positive with it rather than
just using it to escape reality or to daydream.
So being an artist or being a musician or being a poet for instance whether it's as a career or just
for one's own personal benefit.
These are all areas that a Neptune person can be quite talented in and also spirituality may well be
very important.
Ultimately the essence of the dissolving of boundaries that Neptune is all about is about a recognition
of our own divine nature ultimately that we are one with the rest of the universe.
You could say and so anybody with a prominent Neptune What are the best ways of really using that or
embodying it is to make spirituality in some form an important part of one's life whether it's meditation
following different practices.
Whatever works for that person.
But there has to be a recognition and an acceptance of this realm of life for one to truly start bringing
out the best of this nature to really start living one's personal destiny
and finally in this section let's look at the hard aspects between the sun and Pluto.
So here we pick up the energies that the archetype of Pluto represents as we're learning to become an
individual as we are starting to develop our own sense of personal ego as well.
So it could be that the person's father is a particularly Plutonian figure which means that the person
with this aspect in their chart is naturally attuned to picking up whatever is going on on a deep level
for the father or the father figure.
Remember Pluto is related to the unconscious or the underworld.
The shadow side of life the stuff that we prefer to keep hidden.
And so a person with this aspect or one of these aspects in their chart is going to be very sensitive
to whatever the father figure is experiencing deep down one isn't going to take what he say's or even
what he does at face value but rather pick up on these darker unconscious feelings.
So maybe he seems to act in a very loving caring way.
But the down he's experiencing some real emotional turmoil.
Maybe he's depressed maybe he's feeling some very intense destructive feelings which may or may not
be overtly expressed by the person in the presence of their child.
As already discussed when we first start to move away from the mother we look to the father to see what
it means to be an individual what it means to be a person and for some reason what we learn is about
the darker side of life the Plutonian relm in some way the experience that the child internalizes is
that father failed to protect them from pain.
And this can happen in another way a number of ways it could be the suffering of the father themselves
that we pick up on or it could be that the child suffers from some kind of illness or physical pain
that they register as the father not being able to prevent them from experiencing it could even be the
father actually dies when the child is young.
This is a relatively common theme in people with sudden hard aspect to Pluto aspects particularly the
sun conjunct Pluto death is one of the significations for Pluto and it doesn't have to be physical death
but that's certainly one of the possibilities.
It could even be more directly that the father is physically abusive to the child whatever the actual
experience is.
That lesson learned by a sudden Pluto passen is one of betrayal.
Whether it's directly done to them by the father or simply from another event in life.
But which unconsciously the child blames the father for because they weren't there to protect them.
So betrayal is a key word.
When you look at Sun Pluto aspects
on the message that gets internalized is that being an individual you know embodying the son being an
individual means having to be on guard and deeply watchful.
The child learns us need to be wary or apprehensive about trusting somebody because they trust that
they placed in their father was abused in some way which again could be from a direct act by the father
or could be simply that the father didn't protect them in the way that the child was looking for.
It may also have been that the father was a controlling person somebody prone to manipulation the playing
of games to get what one wants.
Concerned with the theme of paua.
These are all possible expressions of the Pluto energy.
So whatever the actual events to cause the child to learn these messages.
The important thing is that the person grows up with a sense that being an individual being oneself
in the world requires control over one that allows other people to see.
It requires the need to be very careful about what you give away about yourself.
And so there's often a sense of secrecy with Sun Pluto people that they hold something back.
And there's a general lack of trust that a lack of trust of life or lack of trust of other people which
was likely developed to some kind of survival technique when younger and which stems from a certain
degree of vulnerability that something bad happened when they were young.
And the way to ensure that it doesn't happen again is to be very guarded and secretive about oneself.
Remember Pluto is the realm of everything that is hidden everything that is unspoken.
And so there is a natural attunement to this area of life.
The person has a deep desire to delve deeply into life to find out what's going on under the surface
in any situation.
There's usually a deep dislike of super superficiality that but also with it can come an expectation
of the worst.
So always looking for the negative in a situation always looking for the problems or what's wrong.
And this in itself can become something of a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Of course there's nothing wrong with being interested in the deeper motivations and to find out what's
really going on.
But the lower side of Pluto there is certainly an attunement there almost to expecting the worst and
obsessively try and get to the bottom of another person's motivations where they're coming from.
And because of something that happened when younger I expect betrayal expect the worst in a situation.
And so this sense of mistrust and that is often what they experience which of course just reinforces
what they feel about life.
As being a dark or untrustworthy place so you'll often find self-destructive tendencies with hard Pluto
aspects even when things are going well for the person.
There is the subtle or not so subtle sometimes expectation of the worst that something bad is going
to happen.
A constant worrying even when there's nothing to worry about.
Which then leads them to withdraw to hold themselves back to not reveal who they really are.
Because there's the expectation that if they do so they open themselves up to be vulnerable and they'll
be destroyed essentially.
People probably wouldn't phrase it in those terms but that's the essence of what's going on at a deeper
level.
You know Pluto is about destruction in its highest form its creative destruction its destruction of
that which no longer serves our highest self to bringing something new and better and more in alignment
with what's right for us.
But in its lower 48 can just be pure destruction I'm one connected to the sun the sense of the self
and that's how you get the self-destructive tendencies.
So it's easy for a person with a hard sudden Pluto aspect to constantly feel like what they're doing
isn't good enough.
A dissatisfaction with themselves and their achievements and then either consciously or unconsciously
destroying what it is that they have a tendency to undermine their achievements and what they do produce
because there's a feeling that it's just not good enough to give a very simple example maybe a child
paints a picture of something and they feel like it's just not good enough.
And so rather than just trying to enhance say or accept how it is they will wrap it up and start over
again.
And that can be what people then do as adults in bigger situations in that life that that dissatisfaction
with what they do leads them to just destroying it all.
Whether it's a relationship or a job or something in their personal lives and such behavior will likely
relate back to what they learned about the developing sense of self when they were younger maybe some
kind of traumatic event in childhood you know Pluto is the realm of trauma and abuse and the real dark
side of events that life has to offer as with the Moon Pluto aspects when you have a sun Pluto hard
aspect.
The person is going to be forced to confront their dark side.
And rather than suppressing its or even rather than trying to get rid of it it has to be integrated
into one's self into one's life which is not at all easy excepting the dualities of life accepting the
life has stuff in it that is what we would call dark but not hiding away from it is having the courage
to face it and to accept it and then to bring God the higher side of Pluto which is profound transformation.
It's being willing to see these difficult lessons as potential for growth and change because it's very
likely that people with some plute or hard aspects are going to go through periods of intense challenges
maybe even crises periodically on the highway through if you like to see Pluto as this creative destructive
force and to allow oneself to go through profound periods of transformation profound changes in how
one views oneself and the chances are it is going to come through a difficult or unpleasant situation
because for whatever reason that's what Sun Pluto people experience a lot of in their lives.
There's no getting away from it.
There's no nice way of saying it is an incredibly difficult aspect to having one's chart so situations
are going to come into one's life are basically going to force a person to shed the old identity to
go through this metaphorical death and rebirth.
But as one gets more conscious there's a recognition that actually doesn't have to come for through
very difficult very dark situations.
That's often how it starts when we're young.
But the more we can learn from.
You know it's almost like life is saying you need this big lesson because it's the only thing that's
going to help you to change.
But as we get more wise and more conscious then hopefully a person can basically learn to go easier
on themselves be kinder to themselves and not to identify themselves with this dark side of life with
their destructive nature.
The more that one can face and accept the dark side of one's nature which we all have the shadow side
the stuff about ourselves that we don't like.
It is just inherent in life.
It just so happens that sun Pluto people tend to be more aware of it and it tends to be more prevalent
in life for some reason than through a process of self-acceptance thought Pluto energy can can be channeled
into more constructive areas.
And so trust is really a key word here.
It's trusting in life it's trusting in other people and it's learning to recognize that actually it's
a sense of awareness of needing to protect oneself that somehow makes a person shut themselves off from
from life or a lot of their vital life force which is what the sun is essentially.
And to be willing to open up to life and to I live with that stuff up into the lights which let's be
honest is likely to be quite a painful difficult process.
But that which gets destroyed ultimately is the thought which isn't really ourselves that is an unhealthy
part of our identity if you like that no longer serves and has to go.
So it's important for us on Pluto person to be aware of any kind of behaviors of looking to control
either their environment or other people and the manipulative behaviors because these are all indications
of a lack of trust.
Ultimately this feeling this incorrect feeling that one needs to be on guard the whole time because
life is a dark and dangerous place.
And also the essence of Pluto is incredibly intense energy.
It's it's all or nothing gets it's passion.
And so that needs to be channeled into more constructive pursuits rather than self-destructive ones.
And some Pluto person has a deep need for something more in life to really delve into the depths and
needs needs a deep meaning in whatever they do they need to find what they're passionate about living
one's passion is important to bringing out the higher side of Pluto and working in Pluto realms is a
way of bringing out its higher side so it doesn't have to manifest in unpleasant personal scenarios.
So that could be working in some kind of therapy.
Being a psychologist or psychiatrist it's about diving deeply under the surface in some way.
So it could even be being a detective or involved in some kind of research.
That sense of looking to get to the bottom of a situation which is what Pluto was wants to do and it
could also indicate somebody who works with other people in crisis situations helping other people to
go through positive transformations out of very difficult very challenging maybe even abusive situations.
Whatever it is are some Pluto person can hold themselves back from life.
They've got to really dive deeply into it.
And what they find is they are actually incredibly strong people.
It is true that life never really gives you more than you can handle.
Even those Vargrave very often it can seem like a lot more than you can handle.
And so while Sun Pluto people may seem to get the rougher deal in terms of their life events it is precisely
because they can handle them.
They get them and ultimately the more a sun Pluto person can learn to trust life and can is willing
to go through these difficult transformation periods so that we're able to experience a huge amount
of personal growth and change and can become a very powerful force for good in their own lives and in
other people's lives rather than simply being a powerful force of self-destruction.
Openness and honesty is key here.
Because Pluto is the realm of something hidden so that there is a fear of if I expose myself if I really
let people know what's going on deep down then something bad is going to happen.
I'm going to be destroyed and it's a learning to trust.
Ultimately the data isn't actually the case so that's it for these Sun hard aspects and in the next
class I will discuss some examples of famous charts to show how some of these aspects that we've just

been talking about can manifest in a person's life.
3 Sun Example
the celebrity chart that we're going to look at here in terms of hard aspects is that of Oprah Winfrey.
So as before I invite you to pause the recording for a moment and just see if you can spot for yourself
which hard aspect we are looking at here
and the aspect is the sun square to Saturn.
So we can see here is the sun at nine degrees of Aquarius and then we have Saturn over here.
Nine degrees of school here.
Exactly.
Exactly square to within less than 1 degree.
And there's no hard aspects.
Exactly opposite the Sun which would behave in LEO North Square over here in Taurus.
And there is a conjunction the sun to Venus but we're not going to worry about that tonight because
that is why you why you would consider to be very helpful.
But so we're going to just focus on the influence of the Sun square Saturn aspect right now and the
sense of limitation and restriction on hardship and big challenges that Saturn represents in hard aspect
to the sun are all very prominent in Oprah Winfrey's early life.
I'm sure most of you will know a little bit about her story.
Basically she had a very rough upbringing and very difficult early life that was full of poverty and
abuse for the first six years of her life.
She actually lived with her maternal grandmother who while not being her father obviously played the
role of the father figure for much of her early childhood and certainly had a certain nature to Erin
that she would hit her with a stick whenever she didn't do what she was told whenever she misbehaved.
And so there's certainly a sense of the cold disapproving figure which is you know very stern and wasn't
an encouraging influence but rather a person who dealt with Oprah through cold hard discipline and the
level of poverty when she was a child was to the degree that she actually used to make her dresses out
of potatoes socks because they couldn't even afford new clothes.
So there was a strong sense of limitation and challenges and very unhappy childhood which are quite
common way with certainly in hard aspect to Sarton.
I'm one of the good things about using famous people as examples.
They tend to really demonstrate the extreme possibilities of the planets in an astrology chart.
So no everyone with the sun in Saturn Sun square Saturn is going to grow up having to wear potato sacks
and been beaten and abused.
But the essence of the internal message is that the person picks up all of a similar if less extreme
quality and how difficult early life continued into a teenage years where she ran away from her mouth
to suffering from many years of abuse and became pregnant at the age of 14 although her son sadly died
shortly after being born.
So again extreme events in her life but symbolizing the Sunday and hard aspects a certain theme of a
very unhappy difficult life full of lots of challenges.
Oprah really exemplifies is the ability to overcome these difficult aspects and to do something quite
wonderful with one's life.
In true Saturne fashion she was forced to work very long and very hard to overcome them.
But as is almost always the case with a certain aspect when a person is willing to part is not hard
work.
And then the success is pretty much inevitable and sudden certain people are strongly motivated to succeed.
There is a desire there to be seen as somebody competent and responsible and somebody at the top of
their game.
And Oprah has gone on to be not just very successful but a person that is really very well respected
and looked up to as some think as an authority figure.
All good high Saturn manifestations after a long hard struggle.
She came to be not just incredibly wealthy but also was listed of the 100 most influential people of
the 20th century by Time magazine.
Oprah herself and on her TV show is very much seen as an institution and she exemplifies what can be
accomplished and achieved even with a hot Sun Saturn aspects by are willing to face life's big challenges
and to work hard and slowly and steadily achieve great success.
For my son you're an example.
I'm going to use this guy.
This is Alex hurricane Higgins who was an incredibly famous indeed infamous snooker player.
Back in the 1980s and 90s he was unbelievably talented.
He was twice world champion but he was also an incredibly unpredictable volatile person with a very
turbulent life very much a personification of the tormented genius the guy was a real outsider real
low and he was someone who was as new and as hard aspects often all or was in conflict with the establishment
during one game certain here.
He actually headbutted the referee and he was actually doing a charity match not even during an official
tournament.
And he was constantly getting into arguments disagreements and fights.
One time during any international match even threatened to have a player on his own team shot.
Alex Hagen's was erratic and unpredictable.
He was a genius one day.
He was terrible the next.
And this is all very indicative of the Uranus energy.
Here's his birth chart.
And we can see the sudden here 27 degrees of Pisces almost exactly square Uranus.
Twenty six degrees of you were of Gemini so Alex Higgins was a rebel.
He was an outsider.
He never really felt like he fitted in.
And he even physically embodied the Uranus erratic energy nature during matches he would sit in his
seat when he was waiting for his turn to play and he would fidget relentlessly.
He couldn't sit still when he moved around the snootful table to play.
He moved in this really unusual jerky fashion.
He was just had this part of nervous energy all these erratic Uranus presence coming out physically
through his body.
He was also a heavy drinker often even during matches and used to take drugs and smoked around 60 cigarettes
a day even after having treatment for throat cancer which eventually killed him.
And this heavy drinking drug taking.
Well we can see that in his chart from the fact that his son is in Pisces.
Remember Pisces and Neptune have a similar quality to them.
The lower nature of this planet and the sign Pisces is a desire to escape from reality.
Not being able to deal with the world.
And so this hard aspect from Uranus really brought the lower side of the Pisces nature in his drinking
and also and also he he he carried a sense of being a victim which is also very Piscean in nature.
If ever he lost a match he always had an excuse.
Either it was too cold or the referee was standing too close and putting him off or that there was a
problem with his cue or even one time he said that the walls were painted the wrong color.
It didn't matter what it was he was just looking for any kind of excuse which again is the lower Pisces
nature of feeling like a victim feeling like the world is against you and white mixed in with the U.N.'s
energy of being a low not being an outsider not feeling like one fits in.
It was unfortunately a recipe for a very unhappy life.
Despite his incredible talent and incredible genius which often you and us can also demonstrate he was
never able to really get that through and this energy under control and so it was really at the mercy
of its in his erotic nature and the erratic unpredictable way that he lived his life he was married
at one time but then ended at the time of his death.
He was living alone in a caravan penniless not really with any friends still.
Still the outside still disconnected from people as you and us can make.
If one doesn't learn to express the energy of it in a more positive fashion.
And in this next shot we're going to look at the aspect of some Internet Chuen.
Here we have the sun 12 degrees of Gemini opposite Neptune 10 degrees of Sagittarius.
This is the chart of Russell Brand.
Russell Brand is a guy that is becoming more and more prominent in the media on TV these days so you
will have likely heard of him.
If not he's a very lightweight very flamboyant English TV presenter writer comedian and someone who's
becoming very prominent these days.
As a kind of anti-establishment figure calling for revolution and changing the way that society operates
the two really key themes that are very prominent in Russell's life.
I want to talk about that relate directly to this son Neptune aspect.
And to give a bit of background Russell's parents were divorced when he was six months old and he lived
with his mother.
So in this case the sort opposite Neptune is showing literally a missing father figure a lack of a strong
father figure when he was growing up which meant that he had to go on a long journey of basically discovering
for himself his identity.
There was no nobody that modeling it for him and so he had to find out for himself who he was and for
much of his early life he very much in body the lower side of the Neptune archetype in that he was an
alcoholic.
He was a serious drug addict addicted to heroin and crack cocaine for many really from around the age
of 16 until his late 20s probably around the time of his Saturn returns.
And for most of this period of his life it was purely about escapism it was about just getting wasted
taking drugs drinking alcohol to really great excess.
Eventually he did turn his life around and like say I I suspect it was right around the time of his
Saturn returns and if you've ever listened to any of his interviews to watch him on TV he now speaks
very strongly and very eloquently about the importance the spirituality has had in his life his practitioner
of Transcendental Meditation as well as yoga.
And he credits these practices with really saving his life with enabling him to overcome his addictions.
Often in interviews he'll talk about his philosophy or view of life and talks about how we are all connected
how we are all.
And this is very much the essence of the higher side of Neptune.
And Russell again is a very extreme and very good example of both sides of Neptune when he was younger
he embodied the lower nature of the escapism and the alcohol and the drugs and then he was able to start
embodying the higher side of Neptune.
And what's important here is he talks about how if it wasn't for the meditation and it wasn't for the
yoga and his spiritual connections he would go back to drugs.
He said the Apes these daily practices that stop him from going back to his old life even now 10 years
after he stopped taking drugs and drinking alcohol.
And it's a good example of how Neptune has to be expressed in his life in some way.
You don't just stop taking drugs and then all is good because he has a prominent Neptune that energy
has to come out.
He has to be expressed some way in his life.
And so it's a really great example of being able to get in touch with them and manifest in one's life
the higher side of the planetary archetype represents.
And so we move on to the final example chart here in this little series and that's the charter of L.
Ron Hubbard who demonstrates the certainly the hard aspect of Pluto.
Here we have the sun at 21 degrees of Pisces and Pluto a 25 degrees of Gemini so and all.
They're all four degrees
L. Ron Hubbard eyes.
You may very well know was a science fiction writer and also the founder of the Church of Scientology.
There's a number of interesting Plutonian traits about him and his life.
I haven't been able to find out much about his early life and his relationship with his father which
is not really surprising actually given Pluto's inclination for secrecy.
What I do know is that his father was a Navy commander and so it was a way to see a lot so the absent
father figure is common wave son in hard aspect to Pluto.
How our run saw his father we don't know but what we what we do know what we can see strong sun Pluto
or three themes throughout his adult life.
Our run had a very strong interest in Arkell's subjects and ceremonial magic.
He was a friend of Alister Crowley the modern forefather of alcoholism and a guy who became known by
the press of the time as the wicked man in the world but who was also interestingly ranked number 73
in a 2002 poll of the greatest Britons of all time no doubt L. Ron became very adept the skills that
he learned with Ali to crowd like the practice of magic.
The realm of the occult is all very Plutonian.
I remember Pluto was all about everything that's hidden under the surface secretive in some way and
one was also incredibly secretive about his private life.
He was something of a recluse.
He was a charismatic man who many people have commented on his magnetic personality and given his formation
of the Church of Scientology and what we have learned about this secretive and somewhat paranoid organization
is that l. ron no doubt had a great interest in power and control over people all deeply Plutonian traits
will never die stemming from some thing in his formative years that would have made him very wary about
giving too much away about himself made him very untrusting of other people and so felt the need to
control others control his environment and with a love of exercising not Plutonian power over other
people.
Many people who knew him have commented that he was manipulative and undoubtably this sense of manipulation
and control stems in some way from a deep fear of betrayal.
You could look at the whole of Scientology as being seen as an exercise in manipulation and control
by the way if someone from the Church of Scientology is listening to this recording I'd just like to
mention that this isn't my own personal view.
I'm just putting it out that has.
How someone may interpret your wonderful organization I'm sure you guys are all quite lovely and charming
and have nothing but other people's best interests at heart.
Our on was certainly a very intense and very complex character with some Think of an all or nothing
nature of we can see that his son is in the third house which is all about communication on the common
placement for a writer.
He had a message he had some thing that he wanted to communicate to the world at large and the sun is
also in the side of Pisces which could indicate a very spiritual nature.
It could also indicate somebody who is more detached from reality or deluded in some way.
Certainly an interesting character.
The theme of secret power control manipulation and intensity are all deeply Plutonian themes which are
clearly exemplified both in outruns life and through the movement that he started the Church of Scientology
form was being kind to him.
You could say that the highest side of Pluto that of personal transformation is represented in Scientology
through the process of Dianetics which sense essentially delves into a person's past all of the dark
stuff and helps them to bring it to the surface and to release that by undergoing a profound transformation
in that sense of identity.
What certainly can't be denied is the sense of secrecy that the that is at the heart of the organization.
And it would probably fair to say a good degree of paranoia as well.
So there we go.
Son in hot aspect to Pluto.
L. ron hubbard and also clearly show and in my opinion through his organization the Church of Scientology.
So that concludes the series of classes going more deeply into the sun and moon more about that nature
and how they operate in the different elements and how some of the hard aspects to them can manifest
in a person's life.
Very often we see that sudden movement issues stem from some think in the relationship between the person
and their mother and father or their mother and father figures.
Although that direct correlation isn't always there.
What I think is most important is what these aspects say about a person not as an adult and how would
they relate to that life now finding the cause can be interesting and sometimes very useful.
But what's of most importance is helping to understand these energies and how they operate.
Now regardless of the past regardless of where they originated and understanding these placement in
one's own chart and in those charts song for loved ones can really help to give a clearer idea of if
and where the lower side of these placements are still coming out in life and in giving some tools or
some ideas for how to transform the energy and and broadening the higher side of these hard aspects
especially the higher side of Saturn Uranus and Neptune and Pluto and they working to make these planets
work for us and bring the more helpful side of that natures rather than suffering that low expressions.
The hard aspect doesn't have to be a hindrance for a person's whole life.
And it's almost always these firey challenges and problems that they produce.
The stimulate the desire for growth and change and for becoming more fully who we really are.
I'm happier and more fulfilled in our lives which always begins with greater self-understanding and
to quickly sum up once again the the characteristics of the sun and the moon.
The moon is our instinctual nature it's our vessel of physical embodiment.
And the way that we are receptive to life how we respond to life through the body and feelings and instincts.
The moon is our antenna.
It goes out into the world it soaks up experiences and then it brings it back to the sun for processing
without the moon that would be no connection with life or other people.
There will be no relationship and therefore no growth since the sun isn't really of relating principle
through the sun we experience ourselves as creators creators of our own life.
It represents a constant and yet is continually evolving through life.
It's always sensual self which really grows and consciousness throughout our life like the mythic hero

in the hero's journey.
